They both have the same model number, so they seem to be identical.

It's going to come down to shipping prices and where you live (i.e. California dwellers have to pay tax to Newegg).

Does anyone no how to configure Lenovo Y580 to work with mSATA SDD as cache? I know that there should be option in BIOS to change SATA mode to RAID. But there isn't. And I can't find anywhere anything about it...

    Hi there,

    i bought a 2530p 2 days ago.
now i want to upgrade my notebook with a ssd.

first i thought i use a caddy, to upgrade with a 2,5" ssd. but i changed my mind, i want to plug a 1.8" ssd into my new baby.

after reading through this incredible ssd 2530p thread i started looking for some ssds fitting in my notebook.

im from germany and many of those ssds mentioned in this threat arent available.

i found this ssd on the internet
    1.8" micro-SATA MX-MDS SSD series :: SSD :: Products :: Mach Xtreme Technology

does anybody got this ssd in his 2530p?

    greets
    moe

I want to purchase a Lenovo Y480 that has an msata slot but I want to ask if there are white lists on bios for msata ssd such as the white lists for wifi modules. If there are no white list that means that I can plug in any pcie msata ssd right? Can anyone has recommendations for the specific Lenovo Y480 model? The capacity that I am looking at is 64Gb because I want to use it as OS boot disk and I will format the internal HDD to have it as storage. Thank you very much for any help.

    Hi Rachel,

I've been going though hundreds of pages of the TT owners posts, and I'm a little confused, as there are so many models of the TT out there

I like to ask if my sony VGN-TT26-GN-R uses mSata or uSata(microSata)?

Mine is currently a 250GB HDD, but I like to convert it to a SSD, and mainstream microSata drives are uncommon.. so I like to ask if mSata drives can be used on my TT or would I need a converter?

Also, I understand some users managed to get 8GB DDR3 ram on their TT. but the TT bios seems to only support 4GB max? and also at 800MHz in dual channel mode... do I have to get a bios hack to enable memory above 4GB or >800Mhz speeds?

I've purchased a HDMI Cable ribbon and port, but before I open the case, just like to check if another HDMI Board is required? From your post, it seems to be so, but elsewhere on the internet, the instructions are not so clear....

Do hope to find out more and do more with this great machine....
