    Hi All

I recently got myself a 2540P with a standard 160GB HDD in it, which is replacing my Dell e4300 which has a Samsung PM800 128GB SSD in.

I noticed that the HP hdd only has a 1.8" slot with micro-sata connector (correct me if I'm wrong).

The Dell's hdd slot is 2.5", but the ssd is in a "case" with a normal sata connection (again, correct me if I'm talking rubbish).

Is there a way I can fit the ssd into the HP??? I don't really want to go out and buy a new ssd drive if I can avoid it.

    Cheers and thanks in advance.

    Steve :)

2.5" SSD will not fit in the 1.8" drive bay. 2540P has a optical bay caddy product allowing you to put a 2.5" drive in place of the optical drive. Or alternative, consider a 1.8" sata SSD from http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...1361-1-8-sata-ssds-available.html#post6978065 if want to keep the optical drive.

Thanks. I know a 2.5" drive won't fit in a 1.8" slot, but if you remove the case it leaves the small ssd card. I was asking if this could be adapted to fit the slot.

Would you happen to be able to take that Samsung drive out of the hdd bay in the Dell, and show us a picture?
