Hi.Anyone know how the DC Jack is connected to the power button board on the 5310m.It appears that it would be soldered to the power button board or the power button encloser looking at the sevice manual but I would like some feedback if any of you know.I can't view the part on hp's web site. Are there any links to get a good look at it. Thanks

To my knowlege, no one here has fully disassembled their 5310m. It is rather difficult to take apart. What is wrong with your notebook?
If it is not charging, there could be a problem with the power adapter as well. -
Thanks for your reply Charles. It's a purchasing consideration.Other HP notebooks that I've been able to see have the Jack connected to the case or frame like last Gen. Elitebooks and even the DV4 and others.I havn't seen any reports off problems in this forum except one concerning play or wiggle. No one I contacted at Hp had a clue how it was mounted. So I looked at the service manual and got a view of the assembly just not a good view.Looks like they might have some metal around part of the actual Jack.I read that the new Elitebooks Jacks are soldered to the board with some metal for added support. So no problem with a notebook I don't own yet but thanks for asking.

Understood; that is a valid concern. The 5310m is quite "sealed", I think getting to the jack would be difficult.
You could try asking here:
