Hey folks, wondering if anyone can help me clear something up.

The 8460w spec sheet says up to 16GB w/2 SODIMMs: HP EliteBook 8460w Mobile Workstation specifications - HP Small & Medium Business products

However, when I go to configure it, the configuration page says:

"Four SODIMMS for a total of 32 GB of memory is available on quad-core systems. Two SODIMMS for a total of 16 GB of memory is available on most dual-core systems. (Two SODIMMS for a total of 8 GB of memory is available on the Intel® Core™ i7-2620M.)"

Yet when I select a quad-core CPU, it does not give me the option of selecting more than 8GB of RAM and shows a max of 2 DIMMs.

Likewise, Crucial also notes that it supports up to 16GB across 2 DIMM slots

So anyone have the skinny on this? Is it actually available w/4 SODIMMs?

I'd guess it's a copy+paste error by someone who doesn't actually know much about computer hardware.

    Dang.

Would love to have a 32GB 14-inch workstation (lots of VM work + travel for me). I figured it was too good to be true :(

    Thanks for the feedback folks.
