So I've had this 8530P for lil over a year now and upgraded to Win7 in April. But since doing that I've had some strange performance issues from time to time.
(Note that my 8530P is upgraded to 4gb ram and a 7200rpm hdd)
When playing Lord of the Rings Online or Heroes of Newerth (both games which the comp should handle easily, and does) I get sudden, unexplainable drops in frame-rate. I can stand there looking at the same wall for 10 minutes, sometimes at 150fps other times at 20fps. Needless to say this is very irritating and really ruins my gaming experience.
So I've searched around and not quite found this weird problem of mine to be very common.
Sometimes I also get crackling sound, but it doesn't last long and it seems to have little or no strings to the drop in framerate.. and it certainly is not a priority problem, like the drop in fps.
(Digression; I have few to none background programs running, pretty fresh Win7 install (with full format), scanned for viruses, spyware, adware and so on.)
I'm wondering wether or not the drivers from HP's website are the ones i want to use (for graphics) or if I should use the updated ones from ATI, which I have been doing ever since the upgrade to Win7 and some time before that. All other updates from HP website are installed.
Anyone got any good ideas..? Thanks in advance
