I do have a problem after selecting the sensor page the screen flickers and becomes dark (started HWINFO32 in Debug-Mode, sorry data is lost), no more reactions of the system. Had to reboot by switching the 8730w off by pressing the on/off button for at least 4 sec. After this I do not get a visible information on the LCD anymore. During start up it is visible that the back-light switches on. But no letters are visible.

    My system: 8730W, W7 64 Ultimate, Dreamcolor, 8GB RAM.

    Tried the following things:
Reset bios CMOS Ram: No success.
Reset bios to standard values: No success.
Hard reset of the system by removing all power-supplies and pressing on for at least 15 sec: No success.
Connected to an external LCD: Everything seems to be fine.
Installed latest BIOS F.13: No success
Installed latest Driver for the FX3700M: No success.
Switched resolution of the graphics to a different solution: No success.

Now I have done everything I can think of.

    Any ideas?

    Regards,
    Chris

That really looks like a problem with your LCD screen and maybe it was just coincidence that your LCD died using HWINFO32?

If you cannot see the BIOS pages which even work with an almost broken graphic card it must be the panel.

Have your tried using HWINFO32 again (using the external LCD)?

You maybe want to try the latest Beta drivers from NVIDIA (266.35) but I see no reason why the drivers should be the problem.

If you have tried changing the solution I guess you already have tried every other settings within the NVIDIA control panel like multiple displays and so on?

But at the end I guess you need a new panel :(

Yes I treid with the external panel and there was no hang-up.

I installed the latest driver from the HP site.

I tried nearly every option in the nvidia panel. Without a positive result.

    I think I lost.

Might be caused by a faulty/crazy GPU VR chip. I'll implement workarounds in HWiNFO32 to avoid any access to such a chip.
Advise: VBIOS reflash and if that doesn't help, then RMA

So hp replaced the LCD. It seems that the display died at the moment I used your tool and after seeing all repairs (the technician visited me 4 times and did not change the fx3700) I am sure that this was a bad coincidence. Thanks for your work.

Thanks for the feedback, good to know that a software couldn't make such a damage. Anyway, I also made improvements in HWiNFO32 to avoid potential issues of this kind.

you should try the old version with your new screen and see if this happens again ;)

    no, kidding

however, I am not sure. Maybe you can destroy only a defective LCD? But maybe there is really no correlation...
