    8740w how to turn on the backlit keyboard??

    hi guys, received my backlit keyboard today in the mail. not as flexy as i expected. got it from china for $17 plus shipping. HP wanted $170 plus shipping! only drawback is mine has english primary and muslim letters as smaller secondary on keys LOL. used to it already.
    anyway, been looking around, how do i activate the backlight?? do i need a different driver or something? thnx for any help...??

    you need to enable the thing in the bios don't forget lol. but with the one machine we had you had to reinstall one of the hp software things to get it to work, i forget which.

    Could be a BIOS reflash? Happened to me with M17X a few times.

    You did try Fn + Spacebar right? At least, that's what toggles the backlight on the US version (it actually took me a little bit to notice since it's not up there with the function keys).

    baa! i cant find it. i checked paypal and only has a chinese guy's name, not company. i tried the product number and name but can't find it this time?? my old laptop's not here, when i get at it I'll see if i saved the website...

    Hi, can you tell me how you activated backlight? I have this problem with chinese baclight keyboard too :)
