On HP's website, I only see a WUXGA WVA screen --- is that dreamcolor-2 (IPS)?
Is there a non-IPS WUXGA screen also available?

the standard (biggest) screen is WUXGA WVA, anti-glare, with white (instead of RGB) LEDs, yes, non-IPS, it is TN

so, if it does not say Dreamcolor or IPS it is the standard WUXGA screen

Under the configurator dropdown, you should be seeing either "17.0-inch diagonal LED-backlit Dreamcolor® WUXGA WVA anti-glare (1920x1200)" or "17.0-inch diagonal LED-backlit Dreamcolor® WUXGA WVA anti-glare (1920x1200) with camera" for a Dreamcolor-2 IPS screen.

There is no Dreamcolor 1 screen for the 8740w, only the Dreamcolor 2, so Dreamcolor on the 8740w refers to a Dreamcolor 2 screen. Dreamcolor on a 8730w would refer to a Dreamcolor 1 screen.
