Suddenly my HP4430s is not running from its battery. It shows the battery at 98% and runs fine when plugged in. Any info or clues as to why, and what can be done to correct the situation would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try to reinsert the Battery if it is removable.

Download the "HP Battery Check" application from HP and see what that says. According to their website, it says "HP Battery Check is a utility that can be used to verify the functionality of the primary and secondary batteries installed in HP Notebook PCs. The battery test results indicate whether the battery should be replaced or calibrated. Information about battery usage is also provided."
