Hello! So I was originally thinking of upgrading my Dell M6600 with a good GPU, but found out that the Radeon R9 M290X (or possibly firepro W7170m) are the best cards that can be used on it, due to a bug in the bios keeping anything Nvidia newer than Fermi from working properly, but one of my friends said that he would happily trade an 8760w or 8770w for it after I explained my plans to him

So I was wondering, is the Clevo Nvidia 980m easily usable, anything in particular to look for/avoid? And are there any compatible Nvidia/AMD cards newer/more powerful than the 980m or W7170m? (I typically use AMD hardware)

    Thanks in advance!

It is not a bug in the BIOS, but how the BIOS is laid out.
The M6600 is the superior machine to the 8760W in everything but GPU compatibility, it has a spare MSATA slot, better build, KB, etc, and 4 DIMM slots compared to the dual core 8760W's. I would go for the trade, but at the same time check out how cheap M6700's are.
To my knowledge, the best GPU to work in a 8770W is a 1070, but its more of a pipe dream than a good idea.
