    Can someone confirm:

    8570w = backlit keyboard
    8570p = no backlit keyboard

    I've vowed that my next computer must have a backlit keyboard, but the only thing I really need in the 8570p that it doesn't seem to have is a backlit keyboard, so moving from 8570p to 8570w is a hefty price increase just for a backlit keyboard (for my needs).

    I'm considering the EliteBook Folio 9470m. Will the ULV processor be plenty enough power for Adobe software? I primarily need a machine for graphic design and programming... I also really need a backlit keyboard and 1366x768 res (if 13-15"").

    As far as I know the 8570p = no switchable gpu. Widi, from what I've read, isn't really worth the technology or effort for the result.

    Does anybody know if there will be an option for a 1600x900 or 1920x1080 ips-type display? Is it worth waiting to see if they'll offer it? Also, why is it taking them such a long time to release this notebook? :confused:

    9470m -Probably only 1366x768
    2170p - Probably only 1366x768
    2570p - Probably only 1366x768
    8470p - Should have 1600x900 but will not have 1080p or ips
    8570p - Should have 1600x900 but will not have 1080p or ips

    The Elitebook range seem to simply miss the more 'fancy' features as they're usually for businesses that don't really care for nice screens (Come on HP, let us business types have a nice screen). There's always the 8570w

    Grabbed myself an 8470p £430) then fitted a Crucial M4 256Gb SSD, 16Gb vengeance ram and an i7-3610qm.

    You have to take some time to apply the thermal paste as the cpu can get toasty.

    Ram: 8.0

    Meet Dan, 55y.o. Account Executive at Our Technology Company. He was just upgraded to the folio. First thing he said "Screen is dinky" - but manages because he has more important things to worry about.

    Meet Me, a 23yo. Marketing/ Hardware tech also looking at the folio. I told internal I'll wait until the 1600x900 screen comes out, then I'll swap. Dan is now frustrated he didn't wait, then is eased with the thought of making another $50,000 deal.

    Some people care, some only care when they see what they're missing.
