    Hi,

I have an 8710w and an 8730w. The 8710w came with an additional 180W AC adapter for use with a docking station.

My 8730w's 150W AC adapter broke down and I was wondering if I can use the 180W AC adapter with either the 8730w or the 8710w? Both 180W and 150W adapters have the same voltage output.

Or is it safer to just get a new 150W adapter?

    Thanks
    Thomas

If they have the same voltage then yes, can use the 180W one. The higher number simply means it can deliver more amps if the notebook requests it. Though the 8730W would need < 150W so it wouldn't draw more than it needs.
