Hi,
I have got both an 8710w and an 8730w with all their install dics. The 8710w didn't come with Windows 7 install discs but the 8730w did. Can i use the 8730w's Windows 7 install discs to install Win7 onto the 8710w and then download the relevant drivers from HP's support website (there are win7 drivers for the 8710w on the hp site).
Thanks

Something as simple as this, I would just try it. Nothing to lose or screw up. Worst case scenario - you run the install and it says that your HP is not a compatible model. Or that you do successfully install and you receive a message saying that your copy of Windows could not be activated. Big deal - you just go back to Vista.
Or you could pay the $20 to HP and have them send you a set for Windows 7. Since both OS's have drivers listed on their support page for the 8710w, I would also have to imagine that under the "recovery" portion of the page, you will have options to order those disks. Just my theory - not 100% on any of this, but your not going to "break" anything by just trying. -
You still need to buy correct license key and enter that after installation.
Can I use HP 8730w's Win7 install discs to install Win 7 onto HP 8710w?
