Can I use a Dell adapter / charger on an 8740w?

The regular 200w charger on the 8740w weighs 1 kilo and is quite massive and a nuisance to travel with.

I have a Dell 150w charger (also 19.5v) from an Alienware which seems to use the same plug (polarity is also the same).

I am thinking of leaving it at work to use it occasionally with the Elitebook. I know the latter has a heftier adapter, but clearly my configuration (i5 + firepro) does not need all that power. According to HP Power Assistant, with prime95 and furmark running power consumption never exceeds 140w (and the Dell 150w adapter can reportedly output as much as 180w).

Has anyone paired a Dell adapter and a HP business notebook before? What do you advise?

Just to clarify, with the latest bios F.21 I cannot use it, but the latest bios also disables the use of 90w original HP chargers - unlike previous revisions. I would be willing to try to downgrade the bios - apparently not a simple procedure - if I had any reason to believe the Dell adapter worked.

just for info: I use the 90w HP for my 8530p and my 8560w on the road without any problems, actually.
