Any reviews? Maybe some benchmark scores? Looks like a pretty nice mobile workstation.

Mine came this AM. Dropped in 16GB RAM and a pair of Crucial SSDs. 13,200 geek bench. That's 4000 more than my 2720qm 8560w scored which is nuts given they have almost exactly the same clocks.

Same terrible screen as before. I have the "70" model.

If there's anything you want me to run let me know.

Hello there. Thanks for the reply. :)

If that won't be a problem I'd like to know how is it performing in 3mark 06 or 3dmark vantage.

Screen is not an issue as - while working in the office - I'm gonna use Eizo monitor. I think the machine will also bear one or two virtualized systems (crossbrowser testing). But I'd like to have a laptop which - besides work - allows to play some games (e.g. Fifa12, Fallout Vegas). Thats why I ask for the benchmark. :)

    A few more observations:

Bootup is much faster than my 8560W which had 32GB RAM and the same SSDs. From open lid to login it's 13s.

This model supports 5 displays. At work the advanced dock I have runs 2 x HP ZR2740s (2560x1400) via DP and there's 2 more DVI available. The nVidia in the 8560W supported only 2. There was an 8560W with AMD graphics that supported 5 however.

This one didn't come with an optical, instead it came with the HP spare bay HD adaptor. This let me add my 2nd M4 SSD easily.

The BIOS has a few neat options like automatically power up or wake up from sleep when you open the lid.

Still no backlit keyboard like the 85 and 87XX.

Again, thanks for the info. I assume the Vantage test was performed with standard settings.

I'm still undecided whether to go with Sony Vaio S or this new HP. I guess the performance will be a bit on HP side (although not much), but Sony is winning in dimensions and weight...

That's a no brainer in my opinion. On one hand you have Sony, who's notorious for making stuff that's impossible to work on and known for abysmal support. The HP includes 3 year onsite service and is very easy to work on.

Plus you're comparing consumer-class vs enterprise-class. Another no brainer.

Hey! Just got back from short vacation!

Probably you're right. Plus I've had 2 HP laptops so far and I cannot say bad word about them. May I ask you for one more favour: can u run the 3dmark 06 test. Since it's impossible to find any FirePro M2000 benchmarks it would allow me to compare its performance to the Vaio, which is becoming rather second choise now.

And - once again - big thank you for help. :)

Enabling fast boot setting in BIOS setup could improve the boot time further.
