Nice idea as the 8740w is mostly identically to the 8540p (according to my research) you might try to find some up to date drivers via the 8540p one.

    Validity Fingerprint Sensor Driver:

Additional as the Original HP driver 4.5.133.0 can be used for the HP EliteBook 850 G1 we might try to use also 4.5.321.0 (sp74167) here.

    HP Quick Launch Buttons:
6.50.18.1 Rev A works fine on my 8540p so I assume also on the 8740w

    Either in 4.5.321.0 (sp74167) nor newer 4.5.324.0 (sp74390) isn't VID_138A&PID_0007 device in INFs.

And you linked to sp49456, which is already on the list.

Any input on how to get around the issue of WiFi being stuck "off" in Windows 10? I fixed mine by installing 7, then installing HP Quick Launch and Connection Manager THEN upgrading to 10 from there but now I am about to do a fresh install on a new SSD and would rather just fresh install Win10 if possible.
