    Hello all,
We have 2 Elitebooks, an 8560w & a 8770W. Having a problem (since day 1) of the USB ports becoming non-responsive on the 8770W.

After a few rounds of plugging external drives in and out, USB thumb drives in and out, Android in and out and suddenly, the USB ports die! Anything still plugged into USB will keep working, but anything new plugged in doesn't respond. The only solution is to reboot (thankfully the SSD boots up fast), usually a few times a day.

HP Tech suggested uninstalling all USB Root Hubs, Generic USB Hubs and anything else "uninstallable" in the USB Controller section in Device Manager. Once done, the ports will work a few days without problems, but then... it starts all over again.

Anyone else had this sort of issue?

    Cheers,
    Tim
