Just bought a new to me 8770W

1 small problem, one of the latches on the display does not hook into the laptop when closed resulting in the display not being secured by both latch mechanism.

Specifically the top left latch does not engage with the mechanism resulting in the lid not being 100% closed.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what I should do?

Most likely broken securing pins. They go with the bottom end, so you'll have to order the whole bottom. The other option - dust. I hope you are lucky and it's only dust that blocks the mechanism, but you have to tear-down the whole machine. Actually either way you'll have to do it, so you might want to postpone using it and disassemble it to see where the problem is, and if you need to order any parts. Good luck!
