I like the specs of the HP 2540, but I am not in love with the looks and as a trendy woman I want something that at least looks a bit more trendy(like their DM3 machines). I want to know will the updated version of the 2540 get an update look to go in line with the rest of HP business and consumer notebooks?

Will the update also include usb 3.0, hdmi, or a better screen for photo viewing and editing? What a metal accent like larger models?

I want to say that was a steal of a price no? Looks a bit Sony and Apple-ish. Will the newer Elitebooks lack the mechanism that keeps the comp closed? I know the new Apple, Sony, and even Thinkpads are moving to a latch-less(is that the right term?) system and I would like that as a bonus. What about USB 3.0 and a better screen? Or a nice 13in version that cost the same as the 12in?

That same laptop might be a hoax as well, looks rather ugly for Elitebook :D

I believe the ProBook 5310m and 5320m are 13" notebooks that you might like design wise.

DM3 doesn't offer durability I ask for and I want to go back to using the nipple for a mouse. Does the 13in ProBook offer the nipple/track point? Then again if the leaks are true, that is the wrong trend. In my mind that trend is for people who don't know better(i.e. people who buy Apple machines to look cool, or netbook just to be see at a coffee shop drinking and working), not the trend I am into. So ew.

How is the battery life on the 5320m and the screen quality?

Fiddle sticks, I want a 13in with that feature and a 13in Elitebook would be perfect. How is the build and durability quality between the Elitebook and the Probooks? It seems to be the Elitebooks are more the business models aimed at the consumer, yes or no?

How is the durability/quality of the Elitebook line vs the Probook line?

So, was this model update with the recent HP updates? Because i saw a 12in model listed but not sure what the specs was or of it was an update to this model.

Is this a new model in the Probook series, because I don't remember seeing a 12in probook? How does the screen, speak, and build quality compare to the standard elitebook line?

If you want a 12" with a better screen, consider the 2740p. It is a convertible tablet PC, but because of that it has a dramatically better screen than the 2540. It's not on par with the DC screen, and it is still 1280X800 resolution, but if you get the "outdoor" screen, it is a BOE Hydis with all the performance criteria of the best screens around: 800:"1 contrast ratio, 250nit brightness, IPS/AFFS+ for 180 degree viewing angles, horizontal and vertical. You will pay a premium for the tablet hinge and the digitizer screen, but there are some phenomenal buys in both the HP Business Outlet and on eBay for refurbs and open box models. I got the 2740 largely for the screen and I use it just as a laptop 80% of the time, though you'd be surprised how handy the touch screen and the ability to lie the screen over the keyboard and naviagate with your fingers or buile in pen can be,.
