Hello everyone.
Looking for some feedback from experienced HP users and advice.
The heart of this post's intent is at the lower section, below..
I read a post here from an HP 4510s thread with an owner wanting to do a CPU upgrade.
Although, failed to pursue the task because he thought the CPU was integrated.
That thread has all replies "locked out. "So here's a fresh one.
I can say I'm quite sure the system board on the 4510s does accommodate Intel core 2 duo
CPU replacement.
It appears to be the purple colored socket P, 478pin, needed for a CPU swap-out.

In my case., An 800Mhz is associated with the machines Ram spec., DDR2 @ 800Mhz.
Allowing for select CPUs that match that requirement. Hitting on a few choices: T5670,
T7700, T9300, T9500, and a few others.
If you have an HP Probook 4500 series machine that supports DDR3., You'll be looking at a
faster CPU FSB match, for the 1066Mhz level Intel or AMD processor.
Quad CPUs don't apply to this model.
My question is just to confirm that it's okay to drop in a T9400 CPU in the 4510s. I'll deal with
any heat concerns if needed. A TDP of 35 is within wattage allowances If that pertains.
A 478pin socket, much like the socket P spec. allowing 479pin quad core options bares no
ention in all the HP doc.
The factory install T-6570 CPU is still a indicator what fits., As I'm not getting any real feedback
from HP.
And with not being familiar with HP customer opinions yet... My best guess is their proprietary
customer service is much like Dell, in many ways. aka... Chaos.
I just want a simple compatibility info with no B.S. addressed.
Concluding...
Will I have any major concerns installing this Intel T-9400 CPU in this HP machine?
Anyone sharing their experience is welcomed here., And, would be very appreciated.
specifically., Facts about the CPU match I've made here with the HP 4510s.
An Intel T9500 CPU.
Update: 11-28-2015
HP 4510s Probook
FSB:
DDR2 550/667Mhz- Operational under PC-6400 800Mhz... but I suspect the
FSB will bottleneck the ram by forced down-clocking... Reducing the Ram's 800Mhz to
667Mhz, accordingly. A GPUZ app will be used to confirm this.
CPU:
Outside of any heat issues spoiling an upgrade.,
The Intel single, and dual core 2 Family CPUs all are possible upgrades.
No quad cores here.
Bare in mind., This lower end Probook may test every attempt to increase it's
performance based on a wide variety unanswered questions about this machine.
Physical access to upgrading is the greatest annoyance, only resolved by a complete
dis-assembly, just to access the CPU and hard-drive.
Note:
This machine was given to me.
I happen to have a T9400 CPU and DDR2 PC-6400 laying around my bench.
So.., No great expense has been imposed.
And yet....
Why do I still feel I should be paid to simply own the thing?
This is a feeling I can't seem to shake.
I will follow up on my findings.
Let us all prey the FSB shows 800MHZ under CPU testing.
That would be miraculous.
Thanks for any responses., NBR.
If it doesn't help me... I hope this helps someone else.
