I had upgraded my 8510w from VISTA to Win 7 recently, and believe this laptop would go further time.

Just would like to gather all 8510w information here.

    NVIDIA Graphics Driver for 8510w Microsoft Windows 7 X64 - FX570M

HP Driver site above, the most updtaed one is 186.24 (19 Oct 2009).
HP Performance Advisor Version: 1.2.2319.0, the latest one is 189.53.
MS Windows Auto-updat: the newest one is 259.85

ALL above is working fine at my 8510w, so I use 259.85.

    However, NVIDIA Driver Site:

    NVIDIA DRIVERS 260.99 WHQL

is recommended for 260.99 WHQL (2010.10.25) as the most updated one. BUT, AFTER MY TRYING, it is not stable at mine.

Edit: once removing HP USB 2.0 Docking Station Driver (HP USB Video/Dispaly), installing 260.99 would be resulted in good working.

    Newest Version 270.61 WHQL

Maybe copy all your details into the first post and ask a mod to delete the other posts? This could then be a nice summary like in the http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...s/352887-2510p-owners-lounge.html#post4518853 .

    Here's some 8510W related stuff:

My brain just divided by zero.

I tried 7, will not switch back to Vista, ever. Vista is okay-ish in a very powerful computer but compared to Vista, 7 feels like you installed XP with all the goodies developed in the last 10 years.
