    Hello everyone,

I broke the screen on my EliteBook 8530p. So I am looking for a replacement lcd panel.

    The original panel was a LG LP154WX4-TLAB 1280x800 on a Radeon HD3650.

So far I found a few possible candidates but only with a 1280x800 resolution, such as the Quanta QD15TL04 Rev.04 and a couple LG panels.

My supplier says that I should only use a 1280x800 or 1680x1050 panel since there could be a limitation in the bios or some other incompatibility.

Since I got bored with the low quality (viewing angles, colors, eye strain) of the original screen I am looking for an upgrade.

Does anyone know of a better quality compatible panel ?

Do I have to stick to the recommended resolutions or can I try a 1440x900 panel and expect it to work? Any link to a success story upgrade will be welcome.

I cannot go much further than 1440x900 because I play Starcraft2 from time to time.

The backup plan is to remove the screen lid, connect an external screen and turn it into an amiga ^^

    Thanks in advance
