    Hi

The (F.20) and continuous operation of the fan causes the preceding versions of the BIOS. I want to return to the old bios version, but does not allow this.

Can you help me to downgrade the bios?

    Thanks

First off are you sure the vents aren't clogged with dust? Continuous fan operations could be attributed to this if you never taken apart and dusted out your laptop or reapplied the thermal paste to insure it still work??? So when was the last time you did these two things??

Once you flash F.20 onto your system you cannot flash back to an older version. This detail is included in the instructions that come with F.20.

So the way to get back would be either:

    1. Ask HP for a systemboard replacement if you are still under warranty.

    2. Physically remove the flash eprom and solder on a programmed one with an older bios than F.20. Unfortunately Grains BIOS repair do not offer a pre-programmed 8510W chip so would need to find some other way of copying a pre-F.20 chip onto an eprom chip for soldering onto your system.

Can thank HP for deliberately doing this to prevent users enjoying the benefits that modified bios brings without needing to upgrade their system. Ie: dual-IDA, no whitelist, SLIC 2.1.
