I was wondering if the Nvidia Quadro FX3800M in the Elitebook 8740w can support multiple external displays, and up to how many?

I no longer have the Quadro version but I did run dual screen alot, I THINK 3 was maximum but dont quote me on it. I now run up to 6 on the M7820 now

ATI is still the only one able to have more than two displays active at once. Bummer if you're an NVIDIA fan.

Thank you for the confirmation I was hoping I hadnt lost my mind too badly.
I will admit the ability to have 3+ monitors active is a large help.

3 is the maximum on the limited Driver functionality on the DisplayPort that the HP uses.

The quadro CAN do more, but due to the driver/firmware on the board its not happening.

I have 3 (including laptop display) one on VGA one on DP.

    And i'm on a 2800M.

I've never heard of an nvidia card doing 3 displays. If that were true, wouldn't they (nvidia) be shouting it from the rooftops?

    because its not very stable?

it also varies from driver to driver. you can upgrade a driver and lose a screen.

thats why it's not advertised, it works when it wants to!

    lol
