I just upgraded my new toy (2170p i7) to Windows 10 and encountered one issue that would affect many xx70 model owners.

hs2350+ wwan modem works fine in Win7 but not in Win10. I found out that it needs firmware upgrade to support Win8/8.1 and that package itself doesnt install properly in Win10 with Win8 compatibility mode or Win7. I actually installed Win8.1 just to upgrade the firmware.

Firmware upgrade is here. It is backwards compatible with Win7 (I already tried that too).

So far almost everything works but I haven't yet figured out how to activate fingerprint feature. It's missing in the settings but driver is installed in the Device manager.

I'll probably upgrade my couple other Elitebooks soon-ish, 8470p and 8560w.

How have your upgrades gone so far? Any problems?

I have a Zbook 17 which I will upgrade this weekend, just waiting for my new SSD's to arrive.
It was on 8.1 originally and fully working so I do not expect any (HP) problems.

If anyone knows how to resolve no sleep on Windows 10 (i have zbook 17) please help.

laptop does not come out of sleep, just crashes and reboots.

I have installed all drivers under windows 10 on hp website, except the new bios. The newest bios caused my computer to say the hard drive was missing. "boot device not found 3f0 error". I could press F9 and select it, click boot and it worked but after 3 hours of fiddling with settings i was unable to get the laptop to boot without having to manually select the drive by hitting F9.

Edit: I have found a temporary work around. Disable hybrid graphics in BIOS. The laptop will now return from sleep with no issues.

    thank you

I have the same problem with my Zbook 17 but I am still on bios .30.
I am also having a problem with the bluetooth on the 7260ac but that was also in Win7 so I am not too bothered about it.

Haven't tested anything else yet but all the drivers have installed though I had some problems installing the Nvidia ones.

Hibernate seems to be more stable (shutdown -h) though the Intel driver crashed on startup it still managed to recover itself unlike the crash you get from sleep

HP has released a new BIOS 1.33
    http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/...28483&swItemId=ob_151168_1&swEnvOid=4192#tab5
    - Fixes an issue where the system does not power on properly when Secure Boot and Computrace support are enabled on the system at the same time.

Once I get home I will install it and see if it fixes the sleep issue
and of course it didn't work, I updated some new Intel chipset drivers as well just to make sure

Edit2: I have read on the HP forum that there might be an update coming out next week, lets wait and see.

Older notebooks will have problem because of incompatible Connection manager.

Upgraded a 8740w to win10, the synaptics two finger scrolling doesnt work in some native apps like Edge. Tried installing synaptics v18 but windows keeps rolling back to a 2010 driver for win7.

    I have now Windows 10 running on my Zbook17, 820 G2 and 810 G2.
Only my Zbook is having a problem with sleep, the rest looks like they are working fine.

I've now downgraded my 2170p back to Win7 and I'll do the same for 8560w too.

WWAN in 2170p worked fine for a while, except when bringing computer up from sleep it lost APN and needed reboot. Until even a reboot nor sim card change helped anymore. Otherwise system worked really well, I was happy with Win10. Fast booting was really nice.

8560w on the other hand... I came across a bug that was already in Win8 - if computer is awaken by mouse or keyboard it will go back to sleep in 4-5 minutes regardless of power settings. Makes me crazy.
In addition I experience strange stutter in video playback (.mkv, mp4). Video issue might be fixable but apparently there is no permanent solution for the sleep issue, so downgrade it is.

I installed Windows 10 on a Elitebook 810 G2 just for evaluation and it seems that the display driver is not workling properly. The driver is crashing e.g. on wake up or in the boot process etc.

Microsoft should add a Windows 10 Pro Version to its product range without all that baskets, shoppings, cortanas and personal experiences. Just a good clean operating system somebody can work with.

Windows 10 is working fine on my 810 G2.

Did you use the HP driver or the Intel driver?

I am using the HP 4248 driver.
Did you also do all the firmware upgrades? You can find them under the Windows 8.1 section.

I had similar problem with synaptics touchpad on my 2530p in W10. (btw, using 18.1.48.60 now) and found this trick on some other forums. This is a microsoft wizard for keeping certain driver updates from installing. clicking on the link below will open ms diagnostics wizard for choosing which driver to hold http://aka.ms/diag_wushowhide

It could be CPU/GPU related. The CPU in my 810 is a i5-4300U with includes HD 4400 graphics. Is it the same?

I installed Windows 10 on my new hp zbook 15u G2 and wifi was so bad. I disconnects, and sometimes stops working. I also see random freezes when watching film using VLC. I just gave up and made a clean install of Windows 7.

Moreover, I couldn't even install Windows 10 using a USB flash drive, possibly due to UEFI. Going to Windows 7 was not easy because the recovery partition was erased. Then I had to use an external hard drive to install Windows 7. Even then, the recovery partition is not restored.

Major the major problems for me is intel dual band wireless-ac 7265.
