    Hi,

I read on the HP Spec guides, that on the initial boot you can choose between 64-bit or 32-bit system, and this is only a once off option after which the other set is deleted.

I am assuming they are talking about the bios? I got the 8510w and its got windows xp sp3 on it and is running 32 bit. Is there any way to change it back to support a 64-bit system?

I know if it could be that we change it somewhere then I would need to format etc.

I googled the T7500 cpu as well and according to what I saw it is also 64-bit so it seems like the hardware does or could support 64bit?

    Thanks in advance.

It is an install option on the operating system. IE, you chose 32 bit or 64 bit windows to install. I do not know if 64 bit windows xp will install over 32 bit windows xp, but that is the question you need to ask google.

    Thanks Indrek,
I was considering Windows 7 im guessing it would still work if I did a partition type of install dual-booting between xp and 7 until i have win 7 up and running fine?
