IT dept. gave me a 2004 vintage nc6000. No OS.

Both batteries appear to be stone cold dead. I'm working on replacing the RTC battery, then reassembling.

Before I gutted it to get to the RTC battery (could they have buried it any deeper?) I plugged in the AC adapter and let it charge all night. The little battery LED on the lappy was blinking yellow when I started, and still blinking the next morning. Battery didn't take a charge.

I'm assuming the main battery is dead, but wondering if this yellow blinking might indicate anything? The charging circuitry could be shot for all I know. BTW, the laptop does start up with the AC adapter plugged in. I was able to install Mint. But it shuts down the moment that you unplug the adapter.
