After a bios update, my HP EliteBook had a power led flashing code like four times, i don't remember, so the only logical explanation was a corrupted bios, i removed the SPI flash rom (SST25VF032B) and programmed it with the parallel port interface described here using spipgm2.exe and the /s switch special for SST25VFxxxB. Everything went fine, i am positive i had a working bios image on the eeprom, then disaster, for some reason the laptop will not turn on it just flashes the power led intermittently with alternating turquaz and white. I removed the eeprom from the motherboard once more, to be sure it's not because of it, with the same result. So now my omputer is bricked probably with a busted motherboard. My question is, what doesthe intermittent power led flashing mean? i couldn't find this code anywhere, and is there something that can be done, for example changing some smd fuses etc

a flashing power led on elitebooks is an indication of a bad battery, fully discharged, not useable, etc, etc. Can also be caused by a bad external power supply adapter.

Jumping straight into reloading the bios and then having that fail might (because of a dodgy power source) not have been a good idea.......

The elitebook might be bricked, or it might just have a bad power source. Do you have access to a different/compatible power adapter?

Some elitebooks are recoverable from being 'bricked', a quick web search might find you a procedure.

You're going to want to try and return the bios to factory-fresh at the latest level with no mods.
