    Hello,

My Company just bought 5 8440's on 2 of them (mine being one of them) when ever I try to download a large file from the internet or transfer alot of data to/from a network drive the wireless drops out and then after about 5 seconds reconnects.

It is very frustrating. I have tried to reinstall the driver, download the latest driver from both the HP and intel site and nothing works.

It is using the Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN wireless card.

The laptops were a fresh and clean install and used the supplied HP driver CD. The strange thing is 3 of of the 5 systems show no issues at all using the same drivers. It is just befalling to me.

    Any ideas?

Did you check event logs for anything suspect that may give you more information with this issue?
Also you can try swapping out the wifi cards from the three good laptops over to the two laptops having wifi problems. See if you can duplicate the issue.

I did check the event logs nothing evident. As far as swapping out the wifi cards I don't think that can be done because 1 of them is the CEO's Laptop the other is the President's and the 3rd the suer is on vacation.

Mt laptop is one of the ones having an issue and just to try I did a fresh reload of the computer and now it seems to be working fine.

Funny enough when the problem happened it was also a fresh install. Maybe the 2 systems got a bad install or something along those lines. I am going to be using it heavily to see if the issue pops back up.

you can try to deactivate the WiFi scanning if you are connected (it is somewhere hidden in the options), sometimes this helps.

or are you too far away from the WLAN router?
