    Hello,

Recently I found out that 8540w comes with two different motherboards: one fow double core and the second one for quad core processor. Also there are 3 adapters: 90, 120 and 150 W.

Is it possible to upgrade processor from 2 to 4 cores without replacing motherboard (!)?

Bpard differs by number of memory modules (2 at double core models and 4 at quad core models) and probably by power system.

    Any ideas.

    Stanislav

Nope, it's not possible. You need a different mobo revision.
You can try and put a quad in it, but it most likely will greet you with loads of issues (might not even post).

    Thanks. I understand.

    P. S. Different power systems – ok two mobo. But 2 memory modules agains 4 – why? Marketing, I think.
