I had been wondering when HP was going to update its EliteBook Folio 1040 line and went searching on HP's site out of curiosity; lo and behold, the updated G2 variant is available:
    Datasheet (PDF)
    Available Models (HP Business Site)

It seems to be exactly the same notebook as the G1 except for the processors which are now the "Broadwell" Intel Core i5/i7 dual-core "U" series. Pricing also looks to be in line with the G1, though I haven't found a pre-configured G2 model with touch. The CTO models are prohibitively expensive as usual from HP (w/o coupons).

Here's our review of the G1 from this past year. We found very little not to like about it. I'd like to see if the G2 has better battery life - it should.

    Hello.
    Do you think either 1040 G1 / G2 can have 12GB ram?

Adding (1) 8gig Ram stick to the soldered on 4gig ram.

Thanks and thanks for sharing this G2 info!

    Is the 1920 x 1080 1040 G2 display TN or IPS?

If the display is listed as "UWVA", then it's IPS. An "SVA" display is not.
