    Hello!

Through my University, I have to opportunity of purchasing the Elitebook 745 G2 for just 716 euro.
Specifications are: 1080p screen, 8 gig ram, 500 gb hdd, amd radeon r5 graphics, amd a8 pro 7150b quadcore processor, windows 8 and 3 years warranty.

But I was told the A8 processor compares to an Intel Core i3, which I don't think will do for me...

I can get a acer aspire v3 with an i5-5200 8 gig ram 1080p and 240 gb SSD for the same price but the build quality of the Elitebook is for me way better.

Now, in time, will I be able to change the motherboard to one with a better processor? If yes, can it be only an A10 or maybe an intel as well? And how much would a motherboard cost?

This is my first post here so please excuse me if I don't use the proper forum conventions ;)

    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Stefan D.

The A10 isn't all that much faster anyway (+200 MHz base clock, which is worthless since they'll always run far below their base clock when stressed). If you need CPU power, go Intel in the first place.

I mean, without all the throttling the 7350B should be roughly on par with the i5-4210u, but that involves fiddling with the AMD MSR tweaker, heavy undervolting and additional cooling.

you cant swap the amd cpu for an intel one. plus if it was possible. althought the intel graphics have improved the amd graphics built in with the A10 is better overally. unless its intels iris graphics but try and get one built into the start cos although im sure it should be still possible to switch amd cpus to another. they are mucher rarer to come across. just get an a10 with the r6 graphics and then just get more ram and that will boost the graphics perfomance aswell as it gains from dual channel.
