Coming soon. With the high resolution display, would I be able to upgrade the cpu to Zen? If its upgradeable as Zen uses same socket and pin compatibility, Lenovo Thinkpad only has a low end Thinkpad with AMD cpus. Obviously not even this notebook is out yet and Zen will be out later this year but it seems to be ready for Zen when it arrives as Zen really doesn't need any design changes on the motherboard itself or new chipsets. Mobile cpu tends to be soldered however and not user upgradable.

Am also waiting to see if a new Zbook 14 model comes out.

    No.
The CPU is soldered most likely, because it is soldered in every 700 and 800 laptop model made so far.
Mobile Zen is >6 months away.
You're right in that it should be ready for Zen when it shows up, but that's only a conveniece for HP.
