I am on Windows XP Pro. Just bought a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex with ESATA port.

My problem is when I plugged in the external drive, the laptop doesn't detect the drive. :( I don't think the drive needs special driver. It's plug and play.

Anyone please share your experience and the solution for my problem.

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex is a portable external hard drive. I don't think it needs a USB cable as a power cable. It should be plug n play, and the manual stated so.

Also check your BIOS setup, the latest BIOS disables eSATA (and docking station SATA) by default and you have to manually go in and re enable them.
