    Hello,

I'm looking at purchasing an Elitebook 8770w laptop, but would like a 1920x1080 screen. My reseller has quoted me on an identical model with both a 1600x900 screen and the 1920x1080 screen, the 1080 version being more than twice as expensive.

I took a look at my replacement screen vendor and noted that a replacement 1080p screen for the 8770w is around $100. But I know that on Dell laptops you need to buy the identical screen otherwise you run into connectivity issues.

Can anyone verify whether or not a person can simply "swap" screens?

    thanks!
