    Hello HP experts,

I been reading the HP service manual and see that there is a slot for the WWAN card. It can be service removed /added.

If that is the case, much like the Elitebook 820 G1, Would it be concievable that instead of a WWAN card, you can add a 2nd SSD drive m.2 2242 size? The largest capacity is 256GB for this.

That would be pretty darn cool to have an 2nd SSD drive in this Folio G1 :)

It would indeed. Personally I've added a 128gb microSD card to the side slot, and it works great.

Is the main/factory installed SSD in this model MSATA or M.2? It says MSATA on the HP page, but all I'm seeing is a full length M.2 drive in all the photos.

It is M.2. If you are looking to upgrade, note that you a 1-sided card. It has to be completely flat on the back side, which is hard to find.

Thanks for the info. The Crucial MX200 CT250MX200SSD4 looks like it should do the trick in my case.

Actually, I'm going to avoid the MX200 because I'm not willing to play the early adopter lottery with SSDs. Also, it seems to be based heavily on the MX100, which seems to have had ongoing issues.

Does anyone have any recommendations for single sided M.2 SSDs compatible with the 1040 G2?

The Intel 530 is single sided, but only up to 180GB, and I want 240GB minimum.

After trying (and failing) a couple of 512GB drives, I ended up just going with the HP part (256GB) which I found on Amazon for a good price. Item was listed as:
