Maybe it just doesn't work with the model I have but I can't get the HP Fan Control from (TPFANControl) to work. I did disable "fan always on" in the bios that saved me from throwing this thing in the trash. The fan has a horrible high pitched noise but from what I read its common with this model. Mine is the Folio 13 with the black mouse pad.. I bleive this is a 1000 series and not the HP EliteBook Folio 9470m which is supposed to work with the HPFanControl. Thank you for any help at all with this!!!!

Maybe sell the machine while you still can! I took mine apart to re-apply some fancy thermal pasts and it did... nothing. Basically the heatsink/fan combo are far too weak. The 9470m is better... (Owned both)
