    Hello

My 9470m sometimes won't power up. The Lightning light just flashes white and orange continuously. I've tried switching batteries and chargers but it is still the same. I've also tried various reset instructions I found online, but no luck. I'm convinced it is an issue with the charging system, but I have no idea how to troubleshoot/repair.

I'm out of warranty at this point so no hope for getting HP to fix it, I was hoping some other members might have encountered this issue and can recommend some tried and true remedies.

    Thanks

Blinking indicates charge is critically low. If removing the battery and running on charger-only doesn't not help, then it's likely a poor AC/DC connection. Either re-solder the connector on the motherboard or use a bit of contact cleaner on both the plug and socket. With any luck it's merely a bit of corrosion/dirt on either.

If you have a multimeter then you could measure the battery itself in order to verify it's actually drained; set to voltage and check the outermost pins of the battery's connector. If it's flat-flat, then it'd say ~10V or less.
