    Hey All,

Really need your help to verify if you experience this or if there is a fix. My 8440W started making noises via the 3.5mm stereo and it is easily amplified in speakers. I got a new 8460w to replace the 8440w after having had the motherboard/sound card and more replaced but the issue still persists.

Both 8460w/8440w are affected. My 8510w, xw8600 workstation, series 7 tablet, etc etc do not show this behavior. The audio noise gets worse when the pc is doing I/O and CPU. You can listen to it also on battery. Wait for the fan to turn off and put your ear on the fan exhaust vent, you can hear the same noises there.

I'm debating getting a new laptop but don't know of any other models out there that are as nice and have all the docking options (don't want a dell or lenovo).

Please listen to this and tell me what you think.

Be sure to turn your volume up. At the beginning of the audio file there is a clock/tick sound which I usually do not hear.

I have tried all sorts of things, turning wifi/bt off, on battery, on a/c only, etc and it still persists.
