    Hi,

    I have a HP ProBook 4330s running Fedora 16 64bit. When running Fedora I am getting very poor battery life ~1hr 20min but under Windows 7 I get ~4hrs.

    Dose anyone know of anything I could do to improve battery life when running Fedora?

    Check this link ubuntu powersaving tweaks where most is usable on any linux distro.

    lesswatts.org is another good resource

    On recent kernels you have to add pcie_aspm=force to the grub boot loader because of device manufacturers lack of following standards.

    Ony my 4530s with intel hd graphics I have quite successfully used this grub boot kernel parameter (using another linux distro):
    pcie_aspm=force i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 i915.i915_enable_fbc=1 i915.lvds_downclock=1 drm.vblankoffdelay=1

    If you have a dedicated radeon graphics card you should check that driver and what powersaving is available.

    Powertop is a good tool to find out what is using power.
    I believe fedora also has laptop-mode-tools package available where you can control devices when running on battery.
