Hey guys, I'm new on this site and was brought here by the MASSIVE eGPU thread I'm sure some of you have seen. Anywho, I'm looking at getting one of these 6360b's from HP's refurb outlet because it seems to be a perfect candidate for an external grpahics setup and a college laptop. It has the expresscard slot I need, the right processor, and Intel's integrated graphics, which make eGPUing easier and much more efficient with Nvidia's Optimus compaction software. Ontop of all of that, it seems to have great reviews and build quality, so I think I'm sold. I just have two questions.
    1. It's a SB laptop, so it's Expresscard slot is 2.0, correct?
    2. I was told to ask you guys for this: "As for the Hp 6360b, the most important data to learn if it is eGPU compatible is to find out the TOLUD value. I'd ask the HP forums to post a screenshot of their device manager in the "memory" dropdown when "view resources by connection" is selected"

So if anyone can give me that screenshot or any other helpful info, It is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT-The 6460b's are identical to the 6360b in every respect but resolution and screen size, correct? Meaning it would work just as well as a 63 for my purposes?

Does this 6460b have a SATAIII-controller and connection? Does it make sense to put in a fast 6Gb SATA3-SSD, or can I save some money and buy "just" a SataII SSD to pop into a 6460b?

Firstly, I think you should deeply check it before you buy SSD. I have 6465b with AMD FCH 60 which should natively support SATA600 but because of HP policy supports only SATA300. Sandra Lite should show you supported SATA on your motherboard. Secondly, differences beetwen SATA300 and SATA600 SSD are only in benchmarks and no in real usage.

My place of employment got multiple Probook 6460b laptops in and on every single one of them the touchpad appears to be defective. With the Synaptics driver installed the touchpad is almost impossible to use. The cursor stutters, jumps, doesn't move, and I can even move the cursor with my finger being about 1/2 inch away from the touchpad. The sides of the touchpad do not seem to work at all and only the very center has any chance of proper function. Turning off all of the Synaptics features does not help at all. After uninstalling the Synapics driver and letting Windows install its own driver the touchpad seems ok the first 2 minutes the laptop is turned on and then it goes totally haywire again. You can move the cursor but it stutters and jumps all over the place. We have seen this same behavior on at least 4 laptops now. Anyone have any ideas?

Just installed a crucial m4 256 Gb SSD in my 6360b, unfortunately HP only supports SATA-II on this laptop.

I used macrium reflect to clone to boot drive and C drive. I couldn't clone the HP rescue and HP utility drives, so I guess I'll have to do without. The cloning went fine, I swapped the drives, rebooted and it just worked. So that's really nice.

I'm saving the old drive just in case something should go wrong with this.
