I've been looking to purchase a smallish laptop and noticed that the HP Probook 4320s is on a really good offer in the UK right now, however it has an i3-380M CPU Coupled with an ATI Radeon 5470 512MB Dedicated GPU, which I'm worried will zap battery life.

My last laptop was an Acer 8371 which let me switch off the ATI card when I didn't need it, is it possible to switch off the Radeon 5470 in the Probook to prolong battery life?

You can't switch off the graphics card but I believe it comes with an optional 9-cell battery that will give you 10 hours of battery life. As HP states not too sure if it's accurate. Either way on standard battery you should be able to get 3-4 hours if not more if i had to guesstimate.
