    Hi folks,

I'm thinking about buying a HP Probook 4330s. Has anybody bought it already and as any info on battery life and the quality of the display?

    It features a non-glossy display, a i3-2310M (2,10 GHz, 3 MB L3-Cache) with the included Intel HD Graphics 3000.

HP gives good discounts to students, which makes it around 600€ in Germany. Can't really find a well-built alternative (was thinking of Edge 13 i3 but the HP has better CPU and graphics performance).

    Best,

    Nils

my guess it would be the same display as the 6360b notebook and the betterylife would be ~85% of the 6360b (47Wh vs. 55Wh) ~5 hours mixed work with wifi ~6h office w/o wi-fi.

    I have the 6360b myself.

I recently got a 4430s, Screen is made by LG and it is OK. Another similar one that I tried had a Samsung screen. Nothing spectacular but decent. Battery life is between 3.5 to 4 hours. Overall it is a nice basic laptop with an i3-2310m.

Old thread but i have some info. I bought this for my girlfriend. Really nice build quality, i could not find this in any other laptop in this price range.

Display is a bit low light and contrast could be better.

The fan is always on, albeit at lowest RPM when surfing etc.

The laptop stays REALLY REALLY cool, u can use it in bed and on your lap without getting hot.

@PlanB: Depends on the source, playing from dvddrive or hd? Im using my GFs 4330s right now, wlan+bt on, 100% screen, 5 chrome windows open, showing 2:49 hours at 80% remaining

    --- ohh, make that 3:09 @ 79% :)

    Thanks for this information.

Would you describe the noise it produces as something unacceptable? Can you hear it in a silent room and does it affect the overall impression of the laptop?

    Thanks again

And some notes on the battery life please, even more so if it's the configuration with the ATI card (I suppose switching is supported).

I'm actually setting up a 4330s for a friend of mine.

Nearly fresh setup. (Removed some trash and installed office, virus protection and so on)
With optimized energy settings (incl. reduced CPU power), dimmed display (50%), activated WiFi and while using Internet Explorer 9, the battery says 5h 30 min at 91%.

The noise from normal use, text editing, powepoint, light browsing when the fan is at its lowest is very silent, you will need to put the fan outlet onto your ear to hear it.

My issue is that i am a audiobook/podcastfan and i use the laptop on the bedside table - i need it to be 100% silent running at lowest cpu frequence.

Just brought this probook last week, now on its 5th charge, on hp Balanced power setting, i get about 4 hours on battery, i do like a bright screen which is very good by the way no problems at all, its a great laptop, i brought 4gb of ram to clip in on top of 4gb fitted, and it runs supremely quickly.. Led screen is made by Samsung, hdd by Hitachi, dvd rw drive by toshiba, with Panasonic cooling fan* and bits inside.. * the fan starts on bootup and runs all the time quietly in background.. there is a feature called 'Quick-web' in which you can run internet without booting os, but i can't find how to do this.. Ideas please kind people.. Thanks in advance..
