Hi everyone!
My friend bought a probook 4415s about a year ago, and now he is complaining that the notebook has some boot-up issues, saying that the system will keep looping on the windows logo screen, and never be able to get to the login screen.
The system configurations are:
AMD Athlon II M320
AMD M880G
2 GB ram
250 GB - Serial ATA-300 - 7200 rpm HDD
DVD±RW Drive
ATI Radeon HD 4200
14" TFT Lcd Mon (1366 x 768)
I ran the onboard hdd diagnostic tests (the tests in the bios), and they were all failed. So it seems to me that the hdd needed to be replaced. So I replaced the hdd, and now when I start-up the computer, and try to get into the BIOS, system information, "HP SpareKey" or the diagonstic test (Esc then F1,F2,F7 or F10), it will freeze up, no responses from the keyboard or the touch pad. But it runs normally under the option of "boot device option" (Esc then F9).
In addition, even I put a disc of Windows 7 Professional into the dvd drive, and select "Optical Disk Drive" in the "boot device option", the system would not be able to start up with the windows installation, and appear the statement, "Non-System Disk or Disk Error. Replace and strike any key when ready" Thus I cannot install windows 7 in the machine.
I have never encounter this kind of problem before, and I can't configure out the reason behind this. Can anyone help me solving this problem? Thx~~
