I have an HP Probook 6550b that has a peculiar power problem. When plugging the AC adapter into the computer, all that happens is the orange LED underneath the lightning bolt symbol flashes. When I press the power button on the laptop, the orange LED flashes but the computer does not turn on. I have verified the AC adapter is working by plugging in a brand new AC adapter from Radioshack and getting the same result. If I remove the battery and try powering up the computer with only the AC adapter, the computer doesn't power up and I get the orange LED flashing again.

Anyone have an idea of what's going on here?
