Could not find a thread about this relatively newer product

    I have a ZBook 15u

    Specs as followed

    i7-5600U DC (Broadwell)
    16GB Memory
    256GB Z Turbo Drive
    FHD UWVA IPS Panel

I am purchasing Ableton Live 9 in a couple weeks, and pretty stoked.

Not sure if anyone here has installed audio production apps on dual core mobile platforms - but for me it being thin and light was more important. It's lighter than its bigger brother ZBook 15 . curious to get others thoughts and suggestions. I'll definitely need to get a second hard drive soon as the audio app is large!

Hm, at this point I'm pretty sure HP has stopped selling this notebook as I can't find it anywhere. All the links to it in this thread and the ones I've saved in my browser are no longer working. What the ...!

Nice find! Looks like they've updated their mobile workstation page too.

The 15u is an interesting subspecies... no internal DVD available, only Qty1 M.2 PCIe slot which is populated with a combo WiFi/Bluetooth board.... so to run SSD on and if you want Wifi/Bluetooth you have to add one or two devices to as many USB 3.0 slots. 16G RAM max, two SO-DIMMs. *** NO THUNDERBOLT 2 *** only a DisplayPort so remember that, the other G2's have Thunderbolt 2. The upcoming G3's will have Thunderbolt 3 (40G/sec). I picked it up really cheap so I'm happy, but I really wanted the Thunderbolt to help futureproof it. - After Christmas I'll look for an SSD and swap the O/S over... more to come.

Depends for what purpose. In this case the Thunderbolt Docking Stations appear to be incredibly useful, since the laptop now doesn't need to be in a specific position. It can be put anywhere and anyhow and connected to the docking station with a small cable.
