    Greetings,

There is so little information on the ZBook 15 G3 at this point, seems like all the love is for the Studio or Ultrabook.

This machine has me captivated and ready to purchase, once all the options are available. What is particularly interesting is the inclusion of 2 NVMe slots, whereas other Dell/Lenovo equivalent machines only have one. They've also got in their specs that the Dreamcolor panel will be available, albeit sales indicates ignorance on when it might be available for purchase.

    My questions are as follows:

    - Anybody have any type of update on the inclusion of the Dreamcolor panel?
    - Anywhere to source the 64GB of ECC RAM (we are planning on Xeon) other than HP?
    - Anywhere to source the NVMe (Turbo Drives) other than HP? (1 TB)
    - If we order without the spinning drive, will all the hardware be present to mount our own 2 TB SSD?
    - Any information on different versions of the Xeon processor, right now they are on 1505 when others are using the 1535?
    - With respect to the graphics options, if you are only doing development/SQL Server type work, what would be the best option of all the options provided (no discrete, AMD, then the two NVIDIAs)?
    - Not having ever bought from HP, what is the best strategy to get the best pricing?

    Many thanks in advance.

HP has stated that the Dreamcolor panel will be available 1st half of 2016. In one of the other G3 threads a user posted that he had been told that it would be available for order in May. Not sure how likely that is.

I'm a very casual web developer (mechanical engineer by trade/computer use), but I can't imagine that the discrete graphics would benefit you, especially considering the battery life penalty. Again, not my field of expertise, though.

This doesn't really answer any of your questions but is the first in-depth review I've seen for the regular G3. The link is for the Bing-translated version of Notebookcheck's review (google said it was already in English) but I would imagine Notebookcheck will have their English version posted soon.

The english review is now posted at Notebookcheck.

It looks like a good machine other than PWM being detected by the reviewer. The Dreamcolor panel uses a completely different subsystem to control the backlight so it likely (hopefully!) won't be using PWM.

Thanks for posting that. There were some odd things in the Bing-translated version.

Am I correct that the MXM graphics card can be user-replaced later on?
