Hello to all. I bought a refurbed until from eBay and paid no attention that there was no mention of an lack of fingerprint reader, NFC module, SIM tray and SD reader..
My question is has anyone tried to install any of these on their own...

On older, larger laptops like my zBook 15 G1, most of these items are just modules that screw somewhere on the frame and plug into the appropriate motherboard slot. However, the X360 (I have one and love it) is assembled more like an Apple laptop/ultrabook than a regular portable. Also, I assume the non-fingerprint model doesn't even have the opening in the frame for the reader and you would need to swap that out as well. Here's a picture of a X360 motherboard from aliexpress:

While things like NFC might be modules that plug in somewhere on the board, I am guessing laptops without the SD card reader or SIM tray simply don't have those connectors and modules soldered onto the board, since the cutout in the frame would be missing anyway. The motherboard is probably a different part number for a laptop with the features you are missing. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think I am.
