I'm looking at a new laptop, 14", and have pretty much narrowed it down to either of these. The problem is trying to determine which will best serve my purposes as there appears to be so many combinations and permutations. I am finding comparable pricing on what seems to be fairly comparable specs in both lines as well as an Elitebook on Amazon that looks pretty nice for only $980, sorry don't see how to put in a hyper-link, only 4 GB memory but obviously I can add more. My needs are not graphic or processor intensive but I want something that is relatively light and durable around $1200. From what I can tell both series allow for access to replace battery and HDD a definite requirement. Other wish list items are:
    1. LED non-glare screen
    2. At least 256 GB 7200 rpm SSD
    3. 8G RAM
    4. W7 Pro
    5. Wired Ethernet connection and multiple ports are extremely useful
    6. Silver would be nice

If you want light and durable it costs more. The ZBook Studio is the best for that.

If you don't need the GPU capabilities, either would work just fine if the prices and specs are similar. Or rather, I wouldn't pay more for capabilities you don't need.

Your requirements don't seem to be that demanding. I am one for not spending money when not needed and squeezing every minute of use out of my computers.
I have an 8770w and a Zbook 15 for my main laptops but My 8530p still gets heavy use dual boot with Win7 and UBUNTU! ( mostly on Linux ).

If you are primarily looking at using this laptop for standard stuff like Web, Business applications ( word, excel etc. ) then it pretty much doesn't matter what you get so go for what is best on your pocket.! How if you want to host some VMs or doing CAD or development work or video editing or photography stuff. then you may want to look at some power option.

    Good Luck
