    Hi All,

I have the above business model laptop and decided to setup a HP Drive Lock for security for when i traveled, this is setup with no issue, restarted the laptops several times and each time the system asked for the password, entered it, no problem.

When i arrived overseas, turned on the laptop, but no request for a password to unlock the drive, instead got No boot device found, (it could no longer see the SSD drive)

played around with it for some time, looked on various forums and decided to setup a new BIOS admin password as i had used the same p/w for both Admin and Drive lock which might have caused an issue.

Did this then the system would no longer recognize the new password.

Removed the power to the CMOS battery which initially started up telling me the setting had been lost then the screen went black, now every time i start the laptop i just get a black screen and flashing caps light (no other keyboard lights).

So, can anyone confirm what im thinking, I think the BIOS is messed up and due to enhanced security i am unable to reflash it with the Win key + B method (which i have tried many times via USB) and the HDD copy is not available as its locked. (or maybe i can use software to access my SSD and remove the password (which i know) then try recovery again.

Or Im wondering if i replace the actual BIOS chip i might get it running again?

    Thanks
    Steve
